PAC-TV is based on a technology called Internet-protocol television, or IPTV, that delivers the television signal over a broadband connection. In other words, PAC-TV delivers television programming over your telephone line. Your telephone line may look just like a couple of copper wires, but it is more like a huge Interstate system (without the traffic jams), capable of carrying many different lanes of data traffic at the same time, each going to a separate destination. Your telephone receiver is one destination, your PACCESS broadband Internet connection another and your television yet another destination for this data.
What's so unique about IPTV is its two-way communications capability and the ability to carry so many pieces of data at the same time. With IPTV and use of other broadband services, you can talk on the telephone, surf the Internet, watch TV and send an email all at the same time over one connection. Since IPTV uses the same broadband technology as the Internet, you always get a digital signal and picture without having to pay extra like with other television providers.
